I always believed that a best friend was someone you could trust with everything — your secrets, your dreams, even your darkest fears. For me, that person was Esther, someone I had known since high school in Thika. Over the years, we shared everything: school projects, family issues, career advice, and countless late-night conversations. I thought she genuinely cared for me, that she would always have my back.
We even celebrated my professional milestones together. When I landed my first major promotion at work, she was the first person I called.
