For years, I had dreamed of winning a government contract to supply educational materials to schools across Kisumu County. Every proposal I submitted was met with rejection. Friends, colleagues, and even family members began to question my persistence. “Maybe this isn’t for you,” they said. “Perhaps you’re wasting your time.” Their words stung, but I refused to give up. I knew the quality of my products and the integrity of my work deserved recognition, even if it seemed the world didn’t agree.
The setbacks were relentless. At every public tender announcement, I watched competitors with bigger networks and deeper pockets secure contracts that I felt I had worked just as hard for. The discouragement was suffocating. I spent sleepless nights revising proposals, attending workshops, and trying to understand the complex procedures involved in government procurement.
