Residents of Nairobi’s Eastlands area were left in shock after a gang of thieves reportedly lost their lives following a daring robbery in which they stole Ksh 300,000 from an unsuspecting Uber driver. What began as a routine day for the driver, identified as James Mwangi, quickly turned into a nightmare, ending in a dramatic and tragic twist that has left locals questioning how fate intervenes in matters of crime.
James, a 32-year-old Uber driver, had just finished a busy morning shift when he received a high-paying ride request. “I didn’t think much of it,” James said. “The passengers seemed normal, and the amount they paid was above average. I was happy, thinking it would be an easy day.” However, his optimism was short-lived.
