I never imagined I would sit here, alone, telling my story to anyone willing to listen. Yet, here I am, with my heart heavy and my mind racing through memories that seem both bitter and impossible to forget. I built a life with my wife. I worked tirelessly, selling water on the streets of Nairobi to ensure she got the education she deserved. Every morning, before the sun even rose, I would wake up and start my small hustle. Every coin I earned went toward her books, her tuition, and her dreams. I sacrificed everything — my sleep, my comfort, and sometimes even my meals — just to see her succeed.
I remember the day she graduated. I could barely believe it. The woman who had once struggled to make ends meet was now walking across a stage, full of pride and dignity. I was proud — more than I had ever been in my life. That was my triumph too, though nobody saw it. I had made her who she was.
