“Why Are You Struggling With Poverty?” My Friends Asked Me, But What I Did Next Shocked Them All

For years, I lived a life I never imagined I would. Every day was a struggle—no money for food, bills piling up, and dreams that seemed impossible to reach. Friends and neighbors seemed to move forward while I stayed stuck, barely surviving. I worked odd jobs, sold small things on the street, and tried anything that could bring in a little cash. Still, nothing ever seemed to work. Poverty had become my constant companion, and I began to feel hopeless.

One day, some of my old friends—people I grew up with—invited me to meet them for lunch. I was hesitant at first because I was embarrassed by my situation. As soon as I sat down, they looked at me and asked bluntly, “Why are you struggling with poverty? You used to have so much potential.” I froze.
