My name is Jamlick Mutisya. I live and work in Nairobi. I had always felt something was wrong at home with my wife, Mercy Mwende. Every time I came back from work, she seemed unhappy, angry, or complaining, even when I had done nothing wrong.
“Kila nikija nyumbani, bibi yangu amekasirika ama amenuna bila sababu,” I told myself. (“Every time I come home, my wife is angry or complaining for no reason.”) I started suspecting that maybe she was seeing someone else behind my back.
I decided to get help from Dr. Kashiririka to understand the truth. “Nilichodhani, hakikuwa ila Dr. Kashiririka alinieleza kuna jambo napangiwa na tukaisimamisha,” I said. (“What I suspected was true. Dr. Kashiririka told me something was being planned against me, and we stopped it.”)
My wife stays at home, jobless, and I work hard to provide for the family. I think she was unhappy that I did not give her money as freely as she wanted and that I did not help her parents much. I never imagined she would betray me like this.
Last Tuesday, I decided to take a leave from work. I told my office I was not feeling well. But deep down, I wanted to see for myself what was really happening.
“Nikiwa kazini nilihisi sina amani, nikaamua kuomba leave kwa kusingizia mimi ni mgonjwa,” I said. (“At work I felt uneasy, so I decided to take leave pretending I was sick.”)
When I arrived home, I could not believe what I saw. My wife was in our bedroom with my watchman, planning to take all my things. I watched as she whispered to him:
“Utaingiza Ndani Kabisa, Akikuja Usimwambie Asijue.” (“Put everything inside completely. If he comes, don’t let him know.”)
I was shocked. I thought about all the times she had acted unhappy when I came home. Now it made sense. I decided to stay calm and observe before confronting them.
Dr. Kashiririka helped me handle the situation carefully. He guided me on how to deal with her without violence, and we made sure the plan to steal my things failed.
“I saw everything,” I said. “When I caught them, I knew I had to be firm but also careful. I wanted to protect my property and myself.”
Even though this hurt me deeply, I am trying to handle the situation with my mind clear. I am still engaging with my wife to understand why she acted this way.
“I am ready to forgive her,” I said. “Even after everything, I hope she learns from this and we can find a way forward. I still want peace in my home, but she must never betray my trust again.”
This whole incident has taught me a lesson. You cannot always trust appearances. Even people close to you may plan against you if you are not careful. But staying calm, observing, and seeking advice from the right people like Dr. Kashiririka helped me save my home and property.
I am now focused on making sure my family and I move forward safely. I hope sharing my story warns others to be careful and always know what is happening at home, even when it seems quiet.
