I had always considered myself smart, living in the heart of Nairobi’s CBD. Deals, contracts, and money were my life. One evening, I “closed” what I thought was the most lucrative deal of my career. The client had supposedly agreed to a large transaction, and I had already begun celebrating in a hotel room nearby.
