A tense family dispute in Machakos County has left residents talking after a heated argument between relatives reportedly took an unexpected spiritual turn, drawing the attention of neighbours and elders.
According to witnesses, the conflict began as a disagreement over family property that had been unresolved for several months. The dispute involved close relatives who had been struggling to agree on how certain land and business assets should be shared.
On the day of the incident, family members gathered at one of the homes to discuss the issue once again. However, what was meant to be a peaceful meeting quickly turned into a heated argument as emotions rose among those present.
Neighbours say loud voices could be heard from outside the compound as the relatives exchanged accusations about past decisions and financial matters.
The situation reportedly escalated when one of the family members began making spiritual accusations against another relative, claiming that the misfortunes affecting the family were not ordinary disagreements but the result of hidden forces.
Witnesses say the claims immediately changed the atmosphere of the meeting.
Some relatives attempted to calm the situation while others strongly rejected the accusations, arguing that the dispute should be resolved through dialogue rather than spiritual blame.
