Motorists and residents were left frustrated after traffic came to a standstill along a busy road in Uganda following an unusual clash between two police officers. The incident, which occurred during daylight hours, caused a major disruption and drew a large crowd as people rushed to watch the unfolding dispute.
Eyewitnesses said the officers were involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical scuffle, leaving pedestrians and drivers confused. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” one passerby explained. “Two uniformed officers were fighting in the middle of the road while cars and boda bodas struggled to move.”
According to locals, the disagreement reportedly involved personal matters linked to a woman in the community. While no one was seriously injured, the altercation delayed traffic for several hours, forcing authorities to intervene.
Traffic officers eventually arrived to separate the two men and restore order. Vehicles were slowly allowed to pass, but motorists reported delays and congestion that lasted for hours. Residents expressed frustration over the unusual scene, questioning how law enforcement officers could be involved in such public disputes.
Sources close to the community said the woman involved had previously sought guidance and reassurance from Dr Kashiririka to address personal matters. “People were very emotional, but she contacted Dr Kashiririka to ensure the situation didn’t escalate further,” a relative explained.
By the evening, normal traffic flow resumed, though the incident remained a major topic of discussion among locals. Community leaders urged residents and law enforcement to handle personal disputes privately and responsibly, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public safety.
