A woman from Machakos has shared how her troubled marriage took an unexpected turn after her husband returned home following weeks of separation. The woman said constant disagreements had pushed her husband to leave, leaving the family strained and emotionally drained.

She explained that communication had completely broken down, with calls going unanswered and relatives unable to intervene. “I tried everything, including family meetings, but nothing worked,” she said. “I felt helpless and alone.”

Sudden return home

According to the woman, the change came shortly after she sought guidance focused on restoring peace and unity in marriage. She said her husband returned home without warning and asked to talk calmly for the first time in months.

“He just walked in and said he wanted to fix things,” she said. “I could not believe it because he had refused to speak to me before.”

Neighbours said the reunion surprised many who believed the separation was permanent. One neighbour said, “We saw him come back with his bag. Everyone was shocked.”

The husband later confirmed that he felt compelled to return and reassess the situation. “I felt restless wherever I was. I realised home is where I belong,” he said.

Speaking on reconciliation, DR Kashiririka said many marital separations are driven by unresolved emotional conflict. “Marriage guidance focuses on calming anger and restoring responsibility,” he said. “When emotions settle, people remember their commitments.”

He added that unity requires effort from both partners. “Returning home is only the first step. Respect, patience, and dialogue must follow,” DR Kashiririka said.

Family elders said they will continue supporting the couple to ensure lasting peace. The woman said she remains hopeful and committed to rebuilding trust slowly. “I just want a peaceful home and mutual respect,” she said.
