Residents of a quiet village in Tharaka Nithi County were left stunned after a middle-aged man reportedly caught his wife practising witchcraft inside their matrimonial home, bringing a long period of unexplained misfortunes to a dramatic halt.

The man, whose identity has been withheld for security reasons, said he had lived in confusion for more than two years as his business collapsed, his health deteriorated, and constant quarrels rocked his marriage without any clear cause. According to him, every attempt to stabilise his life ended in sudden loss.

Speaking after the incident, the man revealed that desperation pushed him to seek help after exhausting all conventional options.

“I had reached a point where I knew something was wrong, but I could not explain it. My shop kept failing, I was always sick, and my wife had completely changed. That is when I decided to seek help,” he said.

The man explained that after making contact, he was advised to stay observant and calm, without confronting his wife prematurely.

“I was told not to accuse anyone and to be patient. I followed everything I was told carefully,” he said.

The breakthrough came late one night when he returned home unexpectedly and found his wife performing strange rituals inside their bedroom. Items allegedly recovered included powders, feathers, threads, and small wrapped objects hidden under the bed and inside a suitcase.

“I could not believe my eyes. When I confronted her, she froze. At that moment, everything started making sense,” he said.

According to the man, the exposure led to immediate changes, including a sudden confession by his wife, who allegedly admitted to targeting him due to unresolved marital conflicts and influence from external parties.

Explaining how the truth came out, the man credited the guidance he received beforehand.

“I was helped to see clearly. Without that guidance, I would still be suffering and blaming myself. That is how I managed to catch her without violence or drama,” he said.

Neighbours confirmed heightened security at the homestead following the incident, with local elders stepping in to calm tensions and prevent retaliation.

Authorities have not confirmed whether formal charges will be filed, but the incident has reignited conversations in the region about domestic conflicts, spiritual beliefs, and silent suffering within marriages.

The man says he is now focused on cleansing, recovery, and rebuilding his life.

“I feel lighter. My sleep has returned. My business is stabilising. I finally understand what was destroying me,” he said.
