Uganda Accountant Recounts Stealing KSh 12 Million to Chase Gambling Losses: “I Lost 50 Jobs”

A Ugandan accountant has shared a heartbreaking story of how gambling addiction destroyed his professional reputation, led him to steal over KSh 12 million from employers, and caused him to lose more than 50 job opportunities.

The accountant, who asked to remain anonymous, said he started gambling casually on sports betting platforms. At first, he won small amounts and believed he had discovered an easy way to make extra income.
