My wedding day was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. My parents had traveled from far away, carrying with them not only gifts and blessings but also years of sacrifice and unconditional love. They were proud to see me marry the man I loved. But just before the ceremony began, my mother-in-law caused a scene that nearly ruined everything.
She approached my parents with anger and accused them of disrespect because they had not contributed money toward the wedding in the amount she expected. Even though my parents had already done their best and supported us emotionally and financially in many other ways, she claimed they had no right to sit in the front row.
